Create a Course Page

Although teachers can easily publish content such as units, lesson, assignments, and locker resources to their digital Classrooms, students and their parents do have to be logged in to view that content. If teachers choose, they may also post assignments, locker resources, events, news, and notes from their digital classrooms on their public teacher website.

Course Pages

Course pages may be added to your personal teacher website in a mini-site named after the course or as pages saved in the same folder as your main teacher website page. Whether or not you use a mini-site for your course page is just personal preference, though we suggest you use the mini-site option if you plan to build a course site with more than one page.

Once you've created a course page you're ready to add content using Elements such as the Rich Text Editor, Slideshow, Locker and Calendar. Be sure to visit our help page on building pages if you haven't already or if you need a refresher. Read on if you would like to post your classroom content to your public website.

1. Choose the Current Assignment element after clicking one of the green plus signs on the page.

2. After selecting the element, you will be prompted to choose one of your courses.

Any assignment for that course which has been assigned but is not yet due will now appear on your page.

Note: By default the locker points to the website section containing the page instead of your course, which is why you need to use the pencil icon to change the source to your course.

Course Calendar

2. On the Calendar Format popup, choose your course from the Alternate event/assignment source pull-down menu.

Alternatives

Instead of creating a page for each course, you could create a generic course page with multiple Current Assignment and Locker elements, one for each course. Or create a one page for Current Assignments and a separate page for Lockers. With School Loop, your teacher website does not have to follow a cookie cutter formula.
