Tips & Tricks: Assignment Not Displaying In Gradebook

Just created an assignment, and don't see it in the gradebook? Let's check two possible sources of the problem.

Check Due Date

Your gradebook has a start and end date. The due date of an assignment must fall within the date range of your gradebook. The date range is displayed at the top right side of your gradebook.

1. Click the Assignment List tab in your gradebook. See the missing assignment? The due date displays to the left of the assignment title. Is the due date beyond the end date of the gradebook? If so, follow the steps below to correct.

2. Click the name of the assignment.

3. Click the Details button next to the assignment name.

4. Select the Edit link.

5. Change the "Due Date" so that it falls within the date range of the gradebook.

6. Click the Publish button.

7. Open gradebook and verify assignment is there.

Check Publishing Options

If the due date falls within the date range of your gradebook, the problem may lie in the publishing options selected when creating the assignment.

1. Click the Assignment List tab in your gradebook. See the missing assignment?

2. Click the name of the assignment.

3. Click the Details button next to the assignment name.

4. Select the Edit link.

5. Under Publish to: verify that "Gradebook" is checked.

6. Click the Publish button.

7. Open gradebook and verify assignment is there.
