Google Search

It is useful to add a Custom Search Engine to your site.

How to Add the Search to Your Site

Use these instructions to add the Google CSE (Custom Search Engine)  to your site.  A large and rather disruptive ad block will accompany your search results, but as a school, you can have these ads turned off once the site's usage for the school is verified by a member of Google's legal team.

1. The name doesn't appear on the search bar itself, so whatever you enter there is simply for your own identification.

2. You can enter multiple sites to search. One potential use of this is putting a CSE on your district site that will search school sites.

3. Click Create

4. On the next page, you will be presented with the code. Simply copy it out and paste it into a Custom HTML element on your School Loop site.

To disable the ads on the search results, you can follow Google's instructions.

If you want to remove the School Loop search bar, simply ask our support team to do this, and we will take care of it for you.
