Note: The TeleParent feature may involve an upgrade fee for School Loop Plus customers. Please contact School Loop for details.
About TeleParent
With School Loop Plus, teachers can get critical messages home with a single phone call in the parent's native language. If a teacher assigns a test or something important is due, parents without a registered account can still be kept in the loop. With our partner, Teleparent, School Loop Plus can deliver these messages in more than 20 languages:
English, Spanish, Thai, Cantonese, Korean, Portuguese, Mandarin, Japanese, Khmer, Lao,
Armenian, Farsi, Vietnamese, Hmong, Tagalog, Haitian Creole, Ukrainian, Russian, Somali,
Punjabi, Urdu, Hindi and Somoan.
Importing TeleParent Data
There are two methods for importing the data necessary to use the TeleParent feature. Both methods use a data file with the following requirements.
- Plain text; ASCII encoding; no column headings or quotes around each data value.
- The columns: Student ID (either permanent or local), Parent home phone number (formatted as pictured below), Home Language (see the list of languages above – case insensitive, but spelling matters).
- For students with more than one parent with different phone numbers, add an additional row, with the same student ID, 2nd phone number, and Home Language.
Manual Upload
Administrators may access the upload interface by logging in to their account, selecting the Parents option under the Parents menu located near the top of the page, and clicking the Upload TeleParents button. To update the School Loop System, generate and upload a new data file.

Sloopy Upload
To send the TeleParent data with the nightly Sloopy upload, you must use the tab delimited version of Sloopy. See the Data Integration Sloopy document in the left column for detailed information on how to setup Sloopy for tab delimited files, and prepare the Teleparent files for import.
